Staying in the savannah, in a real lion’s house (at least in the yard :-)), is unreal and really special. Jacob, the cordial manager, is here to ask you every morning and every evening if everything is okay. If you are afraid of the dark, there is Shuku, born not far away in the bushes, with a spear to escort you to the bungalows. We’ll be happy to come back here. Three days was too little.

Stayed 2 nights at Serengeti Safari Lodge and it was just the right place to relax after the adventure filled game drives in Serengeti. Being the low season there wasn’t… read more much traffic with the friendly staffs available for our comfort. The lodge is located in a great location with high footfall of animals that we could see from the balcony of our luxurious cottage which was set out beautifully in a serene spot overlooking the open Serengeti plains. It was tastefully furnished with locally made pieces and artwork, a comfortable king size bed, bathtub & open shower and all the frills one can expect to get in a luxury resort.
Meals were buffet style with a variety of meats, salads, fruits veggies, starches. We enjoyed sipping cocktails from the well-stocked bar at the poolside.
I can’t wait for another visit to this great resort. More

At the time of booking our tour we were given a choice of two accommodations and we choose this over the Serena hotel as it looked more interesting however I can’t help but think some more honest reviews would have been useful to read about this place before making the decision. Last December my brothers and I stayed at Serengeti Safari Lodge for a week. Food was awesome as well as the ever attentive staff. We need a repeat of this soon!

I was here the night of my birthday and they even surprised me with a cake & a traditional game of eating the cake!
The bad – the food. However the food here is not good at all. I did not enjoy any meals. I only ate because I had to. I stayed here for two night. They need a new chef. Also the kitchen does not give you a breakfast to go box if you want to get an early start for a game drive, which is important for safaris. They make you wait until 6am and you have to sit in the restaurant for breakfast. The lunch to go box was bad both days, but when you’re hungry you will eat.
